Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals / Test to be carried out during a drug trial
French term or phrase: test d'allergie au henne ou au marqueur
Bonjour,

This test is mentioned in a description of a clinical trial for a certain topical (cream) medication. Context: " **Un test d'allergie au henne ou au marqueur** utilise pendant l'etude..." Not very much to go on, but I think they're referring to possible allergic reactions to the cream. To give you my working translation would be an embarrassment-it's that bad!

Please help!

In the interest of public health, calls are made for urgent allergen control and avoidance in the indoor environment. Questions on the importance of ´classical´ allergy (IgE) markers, as displayed in skin prick or blood tests, remain to be resolved in adult asthma. There appears to be another allergy marker, a relative of IgE, referred to as IgG, that may also be involved

Depending on the context the answer could also be (see comments below) tested for allergic reactions marked by henna.
But I think that henna can be allergic when mixed with compounds and that could also be the reason of the test.

agree  Tony M: I suppose it just conceivably also might simply be 'permanent felt-tip pen marker'?

  -> Thank you Tony

agree  Dr Sue Levy (X): Dusty is on the right track - henna or other skin marking substance

  -> Thank you Lady Sue!

agree  Michael Barnett: Yes, I think they are referring to a marker which may be involved in the test but is not in the cream itself. It is used to rule out artifactual reactions.
6 hrs
  -> I agree Michael, the question may be misleading since allergy to pure henna is rare.
