German term
Übertiefen
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Construction / Civil Engineering
"Unter Wahrung des Minimalgefälles von 0,6 % mußten Übertiefen von bis zu 3,2 m akzeptiert werden"
This is from a construction project involving a sewage system and buildings. The context here is trassenfuerhung for a wastewater line network.
I can't find this word in any dictionaries, nor translations anywhere on the internet. Is this simply very deep or extra deep or something, like the meaning of ueber that was brought into English? But then why is it a noun here?
TIA
P.S. I know I have it in plural right now, but I am not 100% whether Übertief or Übertiefe is the singular in this case...

Comment: "Thanks Gabriella!
I compared overdepth and excess depth on google and found a similar amount of results, but found more results with overdepth in my context, i.e. together with wastewater etc. and went with that."
