Not sure what 'bloße' in this context is trying to say? Does this mean that if banks only concentrate on selling third-party funds, they will run up high costs in terms of fund selection and research, or does this mean that they shouldn't just home in an all funds and be a bit more selective?

is my take for "bloss" here; all it is saying is that "the mere business" of selling third-party funds is expensive in itself, because of the care that must be taken.
