German term

Unterlegung der Optionen

German to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
The heading of a section in an option agreement:
"Unterlegung der Optionen: Die Optionen werden aus dem genehmigten Kapital der (Firma) unterlegt"
I couldn't really find any confirmation for "securitisation" or "underlying" - any finance experts out there who could help and provide references too? Thanks very much!!

disagree dkfmmuc : Sorry to disagree. The term "underlying" is used for the share/stock which is the BASE for an option. If you have a CALL option on e.g. Siemens, Siemens would be the underlying. See answer which follows in some seconds.

.. provides a security for the options / collateralizes the options

I am nearly completely sure that this term is the best solution. The term of the underlying is very often refered to as the base share/stock for which you'll get the right due to your buying of the option.
If you e.g. BUY a CALL Option e.g. for Deutsche Bank. You buy the right to pruchase the stocks from the issuer of the option. The value of the option and therefore the price is determined by the changes of the base value - the underlying, the time value and some kind of volatility.
