Discussion

Stephen Sadie (asker) Mar 22, 2006:
this refers to facilities within the retail outlet and NOT oute´lets which merely sell the animals, the make most of their dough with animal food andaccessories
Stephen Sadie (asker) Mar 22, 2006:
@ david: It is indeed a large chain of pet shops, standards must be checked for existing facilities and for new facilities when ready as far as I understand. maketh it sense?
David Moore (X) Mar 22, 2006:
Reading that second sentence carefully, it looks as if the franchisor is somehow putting the cart before the horse, doesn't it!!! IF a permit is being requested to SET UP a facility (one of the options), how CAN he check if standards are being observed???

sales facilities

IMO it's not the equipment but the facilities as such.

livestock sales facility

It could also just be a pet shop or a pet sales outlet. Can't tell from the context. If you know the name of the franchisor, you might find something in Google.

It makes sense: Verkaufsanlage is just a generic term for shop, and the word "pet" is always construed to mean live animals. The franchisee needs the franchisor's permission to build a new or modify an existing sales facility, and the franchisor also wants to have the assurance that local building codes and animal handling regulations etc. are complied with.
Note from asker:
the livestock bit didn't work, it was defined as a retail chain
Peer comment(s):

agree David Moore (X) : "Pet shop", failing anything more concrete by way of context.
