German to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Patient with known Wilson's disease; an abdominal ultrasound was carried out with the following results:
DHC in der Kontrolle 5 mm, kein Anhalt für Cholestase, keine "Doppelflintenphänomene"
I found a Google entry "double-barrelled gun phenomenon" but I am not sure whether this is the correct translation?
Thanks in advance for your support!

The biliary system and portal venous system are bounded
by the same fibrous capsule [1 3]. Therefore, simultaneous
imaging of a portal vein branch and a second parallel tubular
structure has been reported to be a highly accurate sign for
biliary ductal dilatation. This appearance has been referred to
as the double-barrel sign, parallel-channel sign, and the shotgun
sign [5-7].

Dr Sue Levy (X)
: this seems to be specifically for the pancreas whereas Doppelflintenphänomen applies to intrahepatic bile ducts
