German term

Papiervlies

German to English Tech/Engineering Dental Investment Material

From instructions for a dental investment material.

"Muffelvlies" was bad enough, but PAPIERvlies??? I found "paper matting" on one bilingual site. Not altogether convinced by that. If Muffelvlies is "ring liner" (which I'm kind of leaning to at the moment), could "Papiervlies" be "paper liner"?

TIA for your help once more. I'd really like to get this whole "Vlies" thing sorted out. Incidentally, EBM is short for Einbettmasse, and NEM is nonprecious metal.

1. It's definitely ring liner:

INVESTING:
Use high heat investments; follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. Use debubblizer. Use one/two ring liner.
After investment has set, scrape the top of the investment to allow gases to escape.

2. Paper liner seems to be it!
"If a steel casting ring is employed, an expansion of the mould space willonly accompany an expansion of the investment if the ring is fitted with a spacer (Fig 19.1c),
before the investment is poured. This spacer takes the form of a corrugated paper liner."
(second link)
[As you can see I'm getting REALLY enthusiastic about yuor investments ;-))]

the site below states" Use 1mm mineral fleece inlays, do not use paper fleece inlay" , ...but it's the translation of German text!
