Selected
acquitted and convicted

divonis ringan = sentenced lightly

acquitted of the charges, less severely sentenced
Example sentence:
Where your degree of participation in the offence is lesser, the offence will attract a less severe penalty.
When sentencing, a judge must impose the least severe sentence that still achieves both goals, while also considering the need for societal protection.

Indonesian term (edited):
divonis bebas
are acquitted of the charges
6 kasus divonis bebas (murni)/bebas tidak murni = six defendants are acquitted/discharged of the charges
4 kasus divonis ringan = four defendants are lightly convicted

Rujukan:
If the defendants are acquitted of the charges, they intend to try to recover the money paid during the receivership, Hasetz said.

The defendant was 23 at the time and is now 24 years of age.
It is fair to say that he is lightly convicted but it is clear from his anticedants that there have been drinking related issues.
