Italian term

estero su estero

Italian to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
...per i pagamenti non furono fatti dei bonifici in quanto la società ha preteso il pagamento "estero su estero".

The payment is being made from Italy to another country. Elsewhere in this document it is indicated that the foreign company wanted the payment in cash.
How does cash = estero su estero?

Hi there, not sure about the term in English, though these two sites seem to point in this direction.
It sounds like the Italian company wanted to be paid in foreign currency through a foreign account. I also found "estero su Italia", which should mean payment in foreign currency into an Italian account.
