Discussion

Paula Vaz-Carreiro Feb 1, 2008:
Many of my British male friends to write 'love' at the end of correspondence... :-)

Non-ProZ.com (asker) Feb 1, 2008:
fair enough. however, i only write "love", or things like that when im talking to my mom, or my gf. maybe its a cultural thing, but it seems weird.
Paula Vaz-Carreiro Feb 1, 2008:
Richard makes a very good point; saying/writing such things doesn't mean you want to do it, it is just an expression. The British often write, 'love'/'love from'/'lots of love' at the end of their e-mails, letters, etc.
R. Alex Jenkins Feb 1, 2008:
As a man I might write 'abraços' (hugs), but does that mean I want to give the recipient a hug or an embrace? No, not really! It's not what you think; just a slightly more relaxed way or writing :)

Kisses

It just means kisses. I often write "beijos" or "beijinhos" at the end of my e-mails/letter/cards to my friends - it doesn't necessarily means anything other than just a way of finishing a letter or e-mail to a person you consider a friend.

Thanks Richard, beijos :-)
agree John Kingsmore : Yes, I think women tend to send "beijos" or "beijinhos" a lot; now, if it were a man sending "beijos" or "beijinhos", thay may me a little more significant....
