"A researcher wanted to see the effect of gamma irradiation and storage length on grapes. So she used 6 different irradiation doses and repeated each dose three times. Every time she used a new cluster of grapes. Then she stored the grapes and assessed them on day 1 after irradiation treatment, day 15 and day 30 for pH, weight, firmness, color and stem condition. So, 6 doses x 3 repetitions x 3 occasions = 54 “parcelas.” I believe parcelas refer to “portions” of grapes. Can you think of a better word?"

I see your point. The text is confusing. If you have 18 treatment batches and 3 observation periods, it adds up to 54 observations , not physical groups, or "parcelas."
