I have seen "preposto" defined as "chairman", but that meaning doesn't fit here. Would it be "manager"?

Comment: "Thanks. For the context I was looking at (and the word was used throughout the document I was working on), I could not confirm empregado. Most of the other definitions offered would have worked, however, the best being "assign" and "officers"."
