From an academic transcript, in a list of skills and subjects studied at a nursing school:

- "Interconsulta de enfermagem psiquiátrica"

One interpretation I have of "interconsulta" in this context is consultation between psychiatric nursing staff in one department and their counterparts in other departments or hospitals. If this is the case, I am not sure what the usual way of saying this is in English. "Inter-service consultation between psychiatric nursing staff"?

I am also considering the possibility that "interconsulta" is essentially synonymous with "consulta," in which case I might translate this as "psychiatric-nursing staff consultation."

Any thoughts?

I'm doing a translation right now on curricula in the health sciences, and one of the big thrusts is the interdisciplinary approach. In this case the nurse would be learning about psychiatry. The other possibility is that the psychiatric consultation is an integrated aspect of the nursing service - less likely, IMO.

I wouldn't omit "inter-! if I were you.
