conductor sag

The creation of electrical lines demands calculations beforehand, amongst other things, of the optimization of a conductor line from pole to pole. The conductor sag factor must be taken into account... that is, when a line is stretch from pole A to pole B, there will be a sag in that length of the line, and that variant must be taken into account in the mathematical calculations, together with other factors, such as wind pressure, snow weight on the line, etc...

Please visit the website below to see a graphic representation of this concept, under "BASE MODULE:" http://ipowermation.com/polesnwires/index2.shtml

You may want to consider, even for secondary reasons, to check out the following website in Spanish [Argentina] where the terms "vano gravante" is used in the context I explained above. If this text does not lead you to the English term, at least it will help you better understand what "vão gravante" means.

Best of luck!
