Simulation of Deposit Shape
The riverbed profile is as shown in Fig. 6.6.2-4. The calculation result tells that foreset beds reach near the Dam and that the Reservoir is to be filled with sediment after 39 years from completion. That result is almost the same as the estimation developed by the Brune’s diagram, telling that the Reservoir will be filled with sediment after 42 years from completion, described in the previous paragraph, (1).

3.2.4 Brune’s Curve (Capacity-Inflow Method)
Brune's curve method is most common method used for determining the trap efficiency of reservoirs. Brune drew the curves using the data from 44 normal ponded reservoirs in the United States and plotted Te against the reservoir C/I ratio. Brune plotted three curves consisting of one median and two envelop curves as shown in the figure 4. Brune developed an empirical relationship between trap efficiency and the ratio of reservoir capacity to the annual inflow which is shown in the equations 3 & 4.

The plotted points for delivery ratio were obtained by dividing the measured reservoir deposition by a trap efficiency of 97 percent, estimated from Brune's curves (1).
