El trabajo de la cooperación desde el terreno, aporta una voz realista y concreta en un periodo en el que se aceleran los cambios, se transforman los conceptos y nacen nuevos paradigmas.
Frente a ello resulta evidente que la Cooperación Española cuenta con unas señas de identidad claras que se intensifican cuando ese trabajo se concreta en el terreno.
Uno de los rasgos más destacables es la territorialidad, se trabaja con una presencia directa, que se concreta en procesos de acompañamiento tanto a las comunidades como a las instituciones públicas
