Hello
I would appreciate some help/explanation here.
Why use "dan", and to whom is this referring, instead of "doy"?
This is the last phrase at the end of an Interment Receipt from Peru.
Dan conformidad, firmo y dejo estampada la impresión digital del índice derecho.
Thank you!

Yo lo veo como un error de redación que debería ser "En conformidad" o "De conformidad". "In agreement, I hereby sign..... or "I hereby sign and.......in agreement."

I've come across cases in Spanish in which the third person plural has been used where we would normally use the passive voice in English. To give an example with a medical flavor:
"¿Para qué le operaron?" = What was he operated on for?, (or What did he have surgery for?) (As I recall, the answer was, "De las amígdalas." (For his tonsils. ... etc.)
"Dan" in the above-stated sentence could be another case of a third person plural that should be translated either using -- or at least based on -- a passive construction. The overall meaning we end up with, if so, is something like, "According to the agreement that was reached" or "By mutual consent." HTH.
