mix of styles
From Svensk ordbok
stilbrytning: olycklig blandning av uttryckssätt på skilda nivåer i text el. dyl.
I don't fully agree with the negative connotation, as some writers are known for mixing styles in a way that works:
"Pasha Malla's considerable talent has already been recognized in several prize nominations. The stories here are an astonishing and bizarre mix of styles, voices and locales, from Vienna in 1755 to a rather scary future Niagara Falls. Malla is an impressive young voice that gives one hope for a future of new Canadian writing talent."
