I am pleased to announce a new site area at ProZ.com, called the Translator playground.
Need a quick break from work? The Translator playground is a place for translators to have fun, to network, to learn, and to hone their translation or linguistic skills. I am pleased to announce a new site area at ProZ.com, called the Translator playground.
Need a quick break from work? The Translator playground is a place for translators to have fun, to network, to learn, and to hone their translation or linguistic skills. The area consists of a collection of games, memes, quizzes, trivia, anecdotes, discussions, and other items of interest and, principally, fun!
Initially, the Translator playground has been released in forum format. You will note that the traditional "Lighter side of translation/interpretation" forum has been included in this area, since its scope is along similar lines.
In the playground you will find the following areas:
Fun with images: Translation in images, pictures of found mistranslations, comics, etc.
Fun with language: Quotes about translation, tongue twisters and word plays, translation challenges, etc.
Fun with ProZ.com: An area for games and fun discussion related to ProZ.com the site and its community.
Lighter side of translation/interpretation: An area to share entertaining stories related to translation and interpretation .
Other games: An area for games and material which do not fit in other categories within the Translator playground.
So when you take a break today, please feel free to browse the area and participate. If you would like to contribute something new to the area, all are welcome to post new threads. If you have ideas you would like to see in the playground, please contact me using the online support system or by posting here. And have fun!
