I'd say that 70% of my work is human translation and the rest is PEMT. What has changed are the projects themselves - most of my work now consists of smallish (1000-4000 words), same- or next-day-delivery jobs. Up to a few years ago, I used to get much longer jobs, mainly pharmaceutical back-translations. I'm noticing that I'm much more attached to my phone than I was before as the jobs are time-sensitive.

I believe this is true. I say "I believe" because, firstly, I don't keep records of the evolution of translation requests and, secondly, I'm actually surprised by the number of conventional translation requests I still receive. So the decrease is happening rather slowly and I'm not sure it will really come to an end.

Rare? No! The number of projects has been falling, but some of my regular clients still ask for human translation. The percentage varies from month to month. This month, for example, PEMT is by far the most common, but during the three summer months I did nothing but human translation. It’s worth noting that I’m one of those ‘dinosaurs’ who keeps working without CAT tools…

It depends on the month, but PEMT requests are much more common these days. I just don't know if this is the future...
