This is so weird... I have several files (rtf) which have to be translated in TE... all files open, except for one. Every time I try it, I can not close Trados after that and have to restart my pc. The file can be openend in Word. I contacted the client who states they have no problem in opening that file. I tried it on another pc (with Trados 5.5 instead of 6.5)... same problem. Has this ever happened to you? And how can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!
PS: the only difference is that the file that causes the problems is much larger (28 kb) with only 40 words than another file (7 kb) with much more words...
Maybe copying the text and pasting it in a new document?

Hello,
I do not have a clue of why it happens, but some of Trados' problems get solved copy-pasting the text into a new document...
Best of luck,
Mar

Cannot be edited with MS Word?
Sep 7, 2005
Hi,
I don't guess the problem, either, but if there are only 40 words within that large volume file, isn't it possible to use MS Word for editing the file instead of TagEditor? Or you may try redefining DTD setting?
Sorry for not being that much helpful.

I tried all of your kind suggestions, nothing works... However, the client is ok with delivering this file in Word. Still very much interested in how I can solve this Trados-mystery -:))
Thanks for you input!
