I am a rather new user in Trados 7.5

I used to only view the output translation only, without the source sentence.

For example
The orginal sentence is "Welcome", and the output translation is "Bienvenu". I only want to view Bienvenu in my word.

I think I did something wrong. Now in the word file, it now display

Do not fix that Aug 5, 2006

It is by default so and this is good. It is much better to see the translation units in this way, as it prevents you from damaging the units delimeters.
My advice would be to get used to this view - it does no harm, but helps.

If you really want to see only the translated text, so via Tools - Options - View you can select, that Word shall not show hidden text (not recommended, however).

Regards
Jerzy

How can I do it? Aug 5, 2006

Tools->Option->View->"View you can select". I try various options but still cannot disable those delimeters.

I will try to manage to learn the default view in my next assignment. Thanks a lot for your advice.

Also, for some reasons, the default setting in Trado 7.5 is not including the source sentence.

Bill

Deselect "Hidden text" Aug 5, 2006

The source text and delimeters are formatted as hidden text, so all you need to do is to advise Word not to show hidden text.
This can be done via Tools - Options - View.
I don´t have an eglish version of Word, so I cannot give you the names of each option.

Regards
Jerzy

Got it Aug 5, 2006

In the English version, it is called Hidden Text. I did successfully remove the delimiters. Thanks a lot.

After using the default view (with delimiter) for few hours, I still find it is hard to get use to.

Bill
