Hay que tener en cuenta para qué país es la traducción. En Argentina no se juega mucho baseball y quiza ayude más una explicación del término.

Muchos términos del béisbol no se traducen, como este.

El béisbol cuenta con 9 innings (entradas) cada una con parte alta y parte baja (según el turno de los equipos). Si al término de las entradas hay empate, se "va a extra innings", parecidos a los tiempos extra del futbol. Si bien inning se traduce por entrada, no en el caso de entradas extra o suplementarias, hasta donde sé, en México.
