Pink clam parmesan style

Las machas son unos peculiares mariscos que se dan mucho en las costas de Chile. Son unas especies de almejas, pero alargadas y con la concha menos gruesa y dura. Todos los chilenos tenemos en nuestra memoria culinaria el comer este exquisito plato los fines de semana, o en una marisquería. Básicamente, se abre la macha y se le pone un pedacito de queso y opimienta encima, y se pone al horno para que el queso se derrita sobre la lengua de la macha y ésta se cocine en su propio jugo. Ya me dio hambre!

Yo lo traduciría como Pink clam parmigiana o Pink clam parmesan style.

Según esta referencia, que me parece bastante correcta, \"razor clams\" son las \"navajuelas\".

After CTC, we ventured into the heart of Santiago to try the fabled seafood and soak up the 80 degree day. We ate sea urchins in a green sauce (\"erizo\") - with the notable exception of Julie Roth who balked -, muscles in a parmesan sauce (\"machas\") and a peculiar crustacean with a body that resembled a small, twisted tree trunk (\"picoloro\").

yes, a typo, sorry............but you made one yourself.......MUSSELS, not mussles (nor muscles).....

I believe \"machas\" are clams. I found a couple of sites that translated them with \"muscles\", but I believe they are clams. Sorry for the double posting.

In terms of the dishes offered, the machas a la parmesana ($2,900 pesos) at the Libro Café are soaked in white wine and Parmesan cheese, and even though the plate brings only eight macha shells, each shell can have up to three piping hot clams.

Razor clams Parmesan-style

I am not a Spanish translator (I'm a Russian-English translator) but I lived and worked in Chile for a few months last year! And I know a bit about food.

Machas are not just clams; as as been pointed out they are a particular type of clam... not pink clams, but razor clams.

razor clams á la parmesane

Yo mantendría el francés, ya que se trata de un menú (el acento es al revés, pero no encuentro en mi teclado, sorry). La variante en inglés, que a mi modo de ver no es tan sugerente, sería..."razor clams with parmesan cheese"
