Galenic

French to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Main activities and responsibilities: Preparing Galenic examinations and Galenic lessons to prepare pharmacy students for the final exam

This is pulled from a CV; I am rather uncomfortable with the use of Galenic. Do we have to add Pharmaceutical?

You'd better check the French definition of "pharmacie galénique"

70 ghits on a search with pharmacy + faculty + galenic on UK sites. I wouldn't use it either. In addition, "galenic" doesn't really have the same meaning in French as in English (where it has to do with plants n stuff)
And I'm pretty sure the French pharmacy students are not learning to brew up decoctions of eye of newt ;-)

Well there are definitely native speakers who use the word, check above. Incidentally go tell that to my pharmacy teaher one of who is Canadian English.

formulation

I did extensive research on this term a few years ago and I never use it in English. 'Dosage forms' sometimes works, as does 'delivery systems'. In terms of a department in a company or in your example, I like 'formulation'.

I'm a native speaker of British English. I dont rely on GHITS to decide what sounds right. I'm not asking anyonee to trust me. I'm giving my opinion. The answerer can decide whose idea to take.

I see 'galénique' used in the general formulation sense alll the time in French texts. If this text is more specific and relates to infusions and the like, then your answer will be more relevant.
