Non-PRO German to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Gerhard Uhlenbruck quote
"Die Gegenwart ist die zukünftige Erinnerung. Entsprechend sollte man sie gestalten."

Is there a translation for this already somewhere? I couldn't find it but I know many of you are better researchers than I am.

If there is no accepable translation already, what are your suggestions.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

"Present" is what I would keep. Cf. my note to the answer. I would try something like "To the future, our present will become memory, for us to shape accordingly." We know "sie" refers to "Gegenwart", but one might quibble.

@ Ingeborg Well spotted, Ingeborg!! I doubt there is an official EN translation myself, but perhaps this will take the Asker one step forward in his/her researches.
