G suit
Good afternooon. I'm translating a scientific paper on a proprietary improvement to jet pilots' G suits. One of the parts of the paper is the "Background". I'm thinking of "Antecedentes" and "Contexto", but I can't seem to find any reputable sources on Google that confirm which of the two options is correct, if any.
TIA.

Contexto (or entorno)
From what you say, this seems to be the section about what is the general situation in the subject matter. If so, I would go for one of these two. "Antecedentes" might also fit, but this has a narrower meaning.

Introducción
In scientific papers, a given pattern must be followed in the layout of headings, sections and paragraphs. Thus, the "Background" > **Introducción** is the first of the headings after the Abstract and Keywords, regardless of the field of expertise. Even Introduction can sometimes be found instead of Background... this is academic jargon.
The **Introducción** section aims at gathering relevant information in order to positioning the study and results in question amongt former similar studies and to deliver added value to the academic community.
