マーケティングリサーチのアンケート調査の翻訳をしています。ｌ

最終学歴を問う設問で、オリジナルは以下のとおりです。

Q： What is the highest level of education you have completed?

1. Graduated high school or less

2. Completed some college or technical school

3. Graduated from college

4. Some graduate work

5. Obtained post-graduate degree

1. は「高校卒業もしくはそれ以下」

2で「some college」とあります。
この意味はおそらく専門学校レベルと同等の「コミュニティカレッジレベルの」短大または大学を終了した、という意味合いなんだろうと思いますが、これをどう日本語で表現したらいいのか分かりません。

3. は「大学卒業」

4. は「大学院中退」という意味でしょうか？終了とも卒業ともないので、これもちょっと日本語での表現に困っています。

5. は「大学院終了」という意味でしょうか？

日本の大学システムに疎いので、よく分かりません。

どなたかお知恵をお借りできたらと思っています。

Explanation:
意味的にはYuki-sanが提案された中退も含まれますが、日本の大学と違って海外の大学にはContinuing Education（生涯学習）と呼ばれるものがあります。大学や大学院に在籍しながら自分の好きな科目だけを習得したりするプログラムです。ご質問の件には必ずしも中退だけではなく、私が提案する学校に在籍して何単位か履修したことも含まれると思います。私の知り合いの教授でドイツ文学の博士号を持っている者が大学の講義に聴講生としてドイツ語の授業を受けたり、物理学の博士号を持っている者が文学の授業を受けたりした方たちもいます。無論、学位を取るためではなく、自分たちの知識を深めるためです。それらの単位は後でもし本格的に入学し、それぞれの分野でdegreeを取りたい場合、卒業に必要な単位に足すことができます。日本ではなじみの薄い生涯学習ですが、海外では、かなりの人数がおり、年齢層やバックグラウンド、意図も多種多様です。

おっしゃる通り、アメリカの大学生は仕事をしながら少しずつ単位を取る人が大勢います。Some College の日本語は、大学学科履修にしました。

幾つかの大学コース終了, 幾つかの大学院コース終了

Explanation:
--- It's kind of long, and perhaps you have a better way of saying it, but I think this is the meaning of your two terms.

--- From my understanding "some college" means that the person has taken "some college courses." And "some graduate work" means that the person has completed college and has gone further to complete "some graduate courses."

This does not mean that the person has dropped out of college or has not been able to fully complete college.

It is just a personal choice that he/she has made to take some courses to improve his/her knowledge.

Many people do not have the luxury to or time to complete a full 4 year period, or whatever it takes to receive a degree. (They may already be working, etc.)

It happens quite a lot in the US, and I'm sure in many other countries.
