Hi all,
I am having trouble saving my translation as a target document in word. Apparently Trados is having problems with filter definitions.
Has anybody encountered this kind of issues before with Trados 2011?

Hi Laura,

Could you tell me what version of Word you're using and what is the original file format of the document you're trying to save as Word.

Also what exactly is the error message.

I seem to remember that there's some sort of filter issue when translating legacy files like ttx if 2007 is not installed on the same computer.

Thanks for your interest!

My source file is in Word and I do have Word 2007 in my pc.
The error message is the following:

"Failed to save target content: Cannot find the type definition with id Word 2007 v 1.0.0.0".

Do you have any clue of what the problem is or how can I solve it?

Hi Laura,

If you select Tools -> Options -> File Types -> Word 2007-2010, click on Word 2007/10, you'll see that the file type is the following: Word 2007 v 2.0.0.0. If your file is a doc file, I'd save it as docx and try again - V 1.0.0.0 is for Word 2000-2003

sorry, I didn't understand. Which document would you save as docx and try again? My bilingual file? I just cannot save it as a target "word" document.

Hi,

I suspect there's some sort of issue with the source file - if it's a doc file save it as docx. You're now saying it's a bilingual file so what was the source file?

If you have the source file and save it as docx, recreate a project using the same TM and it should get translated close to a 100%.
