I'm working with Trados 2009.
I have translated the footnote, which is in a separate segment.
How can I transfer the footnote number to the target segment?

If the footnote is represented as a code on the left (source) side of the screen, you can copy it to the target side by pressing ctrl+alt+down arrow to bring up the placeable list, Up/Down arrow (to select), Enter (to insert). Alternatively, you can copy the code using cut and paste.

You don't need to do anything special, except obviously copy the footnote tag into the target segment.
Use CTRL-comma to transfer the tag, translate the next segment containing the footnote text and that's it.

You can check the result by doing a preview or opening the real-time preview window.
