smtp problem Mar 29, 2006

you should go to tools/ mail/properties/servers

You have a server for incoming mail (POP3) and outgoing mail SMTP. Check your settings there.
You should have:

POP3.your provider
SMTP.your provider

There should be no @

Hope this makes sense

More Settings... Mar 29, 2006

In addition to what Branka said you have to click>>More Settings>>Outgoing Server>>Log on using>>
Insert your User Name & password

Kind regards

Used to have same problem Mar 29, 2006

Until I found out that my former provider didn't allow me to receive e-mails anymore because in the meantime I changed the dial-up connection (another telephone number). Apparently few providers doesn't allow you to use their e-mail systems properly unless you use a specific phone number. It could be your case.

yes Mar 29, 2006

This could well be the case. What error message do you get?

It could be Mar 29, 2006

That is the most strange thing. I do not get any error messages.

Thanks

Teresa

Try this... Mar 29, 2006

Dear Maria Teresa,

I also used to have problems with Outlook Express until I was fed up with it. Since then I use Microsoft Outlook and have not had any problems.

I used to work with Microsoft Outlook and I had no problems with it. It is the first time I use Outlook Express.

Maybe you are right and I should return to Microsoft Outlook because I have tried everything and it does not work.

Thank you very much to everyone.
