Wordfast vs Trados upgrade

Hello Everyone,



I was considering upgrading from Trados 2 (which does not work on Windows 9, but I can see now that Wordfast is a lot cheaper and has the best product ratings among Proz members. I work only in Word (very seldom in PowerPoint) and suspect Wordfast provides better value for money in my case. Would you recommend it?

You can download Wordfast (at wordfast.net) and try it before you buy it.

Make sure to join one or two Wordfast mailing lists (there are several in different languages) to ask any questions you might have at the beginning (see "Community" on the Wordfast site).

I have Trados 6 and Wordfast. I use Trados for Powerpoint files but there was a mention recently on the French Wordfast list about how easy and comfortable it was to translate Powerpoint docs with Wordfast.

Wordfast is very nice.

Hello,

Wordfast can't work with Tagged files for the TagEditor.

Dear Hans,
I'm afraid it can with some file juggling at present.
Some previous versions use to do a better job though.
Check the yahoo wordfast group for more details.
Even though not perfect yet (no CAT is!!) I personally prefer Wordfast over the rest.
