agree  Donald Scott Alexander: I like both "has fallen" and "has fallen off" -- and both "sharply" and "considerably." From this short excerpt, we can't tell whether "fell" might be better than "has fallen" - we'd have to look at the larger context to see how far in the past it is/was.
