German term

Arbeitnehmerbeteiligungsverfahren

German to English Bus/Financial Law (general)
Zuvor war das Arbeitnehmerbeteiligungsverfahren erfolgreich abgeschlossen worden
I am assuming from the context that this is a necessary step prior to transformation to a European corporation. I had thought of employee participation process, but wonder if there is something more specific. TIA

employee participation process

I think you've got it right.

Industrial democracy and employee participation
Employee Participation in Europe deals with industrial democracy and all forms of employee participation at the company level such as:
 European works councils
 European company statute
 Information and consultation
 Co-determination
 Financial participation
 Global framework agreements.

agree Nils Andersson : I have worked on docs about this, there is now something called an SE (Societate Europeia IRRC, Latin) where the corp. gets an EU-wide registration, but is then required to obey an additional set of EU rules, including employee participation on the board.

employee consultation procedure/process?

when it relates to redundancies, this is the phrase which is used - (as if anyone was going to listen to them anyway!) Participation could have a slightly negative overtone to a UK reader, as it would smack of Works Councils and suchlike - but then that is probably correct for a German text!
