I really never heard of a MAIN appellate hearing.
A "Hauptverhandlung" is also only a hearing, certainly not a MAIN hearing.

I would say, though I was initially tempted to fully agree to Astrid`s version. but after giving the matter another thought, I feel emphasis should be put on hearing, i.e. main hearing, rather than (main appeal hearing)

Like it was said, there is no Haupt hearing, only preliminary hearings or possibly 'the hearing proper'. Besides, its the appealS court
