I'm not sure what they intend with "libero servizio". I don't have any other written context, only to say that this a marketing brochure regarding a company producing salamis and cured meats and this is one of the points in a list mentioning salami, prosciutto, mortadella, salami libero servizio, ecc

I would appreciate your help.

Difficult to understand They could mean that they are also packaged in serving portions as in the packaged cold cuts in a supermarket.

Description of its presentation, perhaps? Could it be describing the way the salami is sold, i.e. 'pre-packaged salami' (i.e. ready-to-serve) OR the opposite, 'whole salami' (which would need to be cut by the consumer at home)?

Libero servizio is self-service alright, but Italians don't really *do* self-service in a salumeria, so it's hard to picture what they mean. :)

This is *only* in the context given – if you think about it, they're hardly going to have people doing self-service salami in a supermarket. This would either involve allowing people to cut their own with the slicer, or reaching into an open deli case to lift out individual slices.

The only ways you can buy salami are to buy slices over the counter at which they're slices off of a whole one, or in plastic packets in a refrigerated display case – I think this is the latter.

Veroni specifies between whole and sliced salumi available in this way:

Beretta is the Italian market leader in pre-packaged salami, and if you go through their product list, you can see that they're the kind packed in plastic. This from their website:
