German term

Event“ gelistete Enums als Parameter zu übergebe

German to English Other Computers: Software Android User Guide for SCM LIBRARY
Sobald in der APP ein unter „manuell auszulösende Events“ beschriebenes Ereignis ausgelöst wird, ist die MessLibrary per logEvent aufzurufen. Hierbei ist die in der Spalte „Event“ gelistete Enums als Parameter zu übergeben (siehe auch 4.2.3).

Need help with appropriate translation using this phrase.

Discussion

William Kratzer Jr. (asker) Dec 27, 2012:
I provided all of the context that relates to this. This is in a manual for an Android. This is all of a part of a Centralized Scalable Measurement System to measure web offers. Here is more context:

I think the term "Enum" makes troubles. But without additional context I have not idea what it means. Perhaps a "E...-Nummer", but which letters to fill in???
Dear William, could you please help us to understand what a "Enum" is in order to help you vice versa?
philgoddard Dec 27, 2012:
Well, he hasn't said which words he's having problems with, but he has more context than we do and he hasn't shared it. He must know what SCM Library is, for starters.
John Owen Dec 27, 2012:
@philgoddard: I think if those words were obvious, William wouldn'nt have been asking the question.
philgoddard Dec 27, 2012:
Please provide proper context. What is this all about? What is SCM Library and APP? What is an Enums, and why does it end in S when it appears to be singular?

is to be passed as a parameter

This can only work if enum is singular.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Johannes Gleim : passing parameters is not the point acc. MHO.

agree Maja_K : exactly.. and I would add the reference http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/sbbt4032(v=vs.110).a... (that which Johannes wasn't clear about....)

The enums listed under "Event" is to be passed as a parameter

This is the translation of the German original. However, if I as a software engineer had written the text I would have said something like "The corresponding enum listed under "Event" is to be passed as parameter.

Note: An enum or enumerated type is found in several (computing) languages, where a name is given to some (arbitrary) number. Usually, but not necessarily, the numbers are enumerated starting from zero or one, hence the term enum. In this case there are words describing an event, such as e.g. some maximum has been reached, and they are listed in a table under the heading event.

As enums in my answer is plural is should be are - sorry. However, normally you wouldn't be expected to pass more than one value per parameter.
Example sentence:

So, I wanted to create an Enum with the possible statuses (Connected, Disconnected, ReceivingData, SendingData etc.) and have that sent with the EventArgs parameter of the event when it is raised (see below)

Peer comment(s):

agree jharnam : The Enums from the Event column are expected to be passed as parameters.
