Hi, 基本上同意Jacky和清水。只是觉得search如果翻成·调查·就包括网络，书面档案，还有音像等等方面的考证。diligent除了努力认真地意义之外应该还有详尽的含义。拙见。

: This is the better option. 勤勉 is okay but it is directed to the way one PERFORMS the search. In this case, diligent means a "THOROUGH" search, it is specifically describing the scope of the search, not the way it is done.
