Rounded heel support
Text presented by Kashew, does have other translation mistakes for example: "échelle" is not "scale", rather "ladder"!

: My understanding is that "talonnière" as a noun means "heel support." Here, though, isn't "talonnière" functioning as a fem. adj. modifying "attaque" (simply meaning "heel")? That leaves unanswered the question of what "attaque" means in this context.

Heel strike (attaque talonnière) is about the physiology of walking or running: the way that the heel impacts the ground, where it is the first part of the foot to make contact with each stride.

: Maybe this is the best answer, but it would be more convincing if your refs. were about safety shoes.

That's wanting bells on it! See reference just posted. Obviously, "heel strike area" applies to any shoes one walks or runs in.

: "...phase d’attaque du talon au sol (appui taligrade)". Il semble bien qu'il s'agisse de la forme arrondie de la semelle externe sous le talon. http://www.observatoire-du-mouvement.com/upload/contenu/odm-...
