German term
Operativ Zentral
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Law: Contract(s)
From the document heading: "PIAV-Operativ Zentral - Leistungsbeschreibung"
PIAV=Polizeilicher Informations- und Analyseverbund [Police Information and Analysis Network]
Leistungsbeschreibung=Technical Specifications
...but how am I to understand "Operativ Zentral"? Perhaps "centralized operation"? That does not sound right and I am stumped. Any help would be much appreciated.

Operations Centre
The German word for "Centre" or "Headquarters" or "Head Office", is "(die) Zentrale" – with an "e" on the end. I am assuming the use of "Zentral" here is a typo, since in this context (PIAV) it makes perfect sense that the reference is to an operations centre.
Note from asker:
Thank you! Your answer makes sense. Unfortunately, "Zentral" (no "e" on the end) does not seem to be a typo. The phrase is used consistently throughout the entire document. For more evidence this is not a typo, see: http://tinyurl.com/kltydhf Both "Operativ" and "Zentral" appear to be working as adjectives modifying "PIAV". |
