UCITS is used in the UK and, most of all, in Brussels. (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities). It's ugly, but it's there to stay. Investment companies, otherwise, or funds.

Since you\'re in the UK, you may also want to keep in mind that what I and many others here refer to as mutual funds are generlly called unit trusts in the UK (they create units, whereas US funds create shares, etc.)

OPCVM is not a legal form but a descriptive term that covers several types of funds; in France these are primarily SICAVs (open end inventment companies) and FCPs (mutual funds).

Since you\'re in the UK, you may also want to keep in mind that what I and many others here refer to as mutual funds are generlly called unit trusts in the UK (they create units, whereas US funds create shares, etc.)

: The "English" term is widely used. The French even refer to the "Directive UCITS". Unfortunately.

Unless it's strictly identical in legal form, I would leave OPVCM (French mutual fund). Otherwise it's misleading, like translating SA as Corporation in the name of a French company.
