Is there a particular equivalent translation for this phrase in English?

Example from the text: "...augmentation de débit avec changement d’interface et sans changement de route optique..."

I think this "route" must be taken in a network context, so the english is probably the same 'a route' a set of optical fibers where interfaces and speed can be changed but not the hardware. It has to take the same physical path...route.

Optic route

I am positive we use "route" and not "path", and i am fairly sure that the correct term would be optic route, although optic is normally seen with fiber, as in fiber optic cables.
