If it's someone who has given up on their country, I would translate it this way. They think the battle is already lost since their country isn't theirs (anymore?), so fighting is pointless.

Thanks for the research! So either character A feels no more allegiance to England and wants to move to Israel or character B isn't convinced that fighting for Israel is worthwhile. Either way, as Anja suspected, the speaker has given up on a country.

Verlieren kommt (für uns) nicht infrage
Verlieren verboten!

: IMO, this says far too much. In effect you are suggesting that "we dare not lose", but that's "zuweit aus dem Fenster gelehnt!" Anyway, that's how this ENS understands it.

Im Sinne von "why should be fight for the country that's not ours to lose = we;re not the ones that are losing it.
Alternative:

Discussion
https://www.idiomsandslang.com/someones-to-lose/
https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/47099/why-does-h...
Sarah and I are moving the kids to Israel.
Oh.
Well, I don't need to ask why.
I'm not saying you're wrong.
Here's all I'll say.
We need people to fight.
We need people to stand up and fight for this country, or we might lose it.
Maybe it's not ours to lose.
