The context is management training (powerpoint slides), explanation of the distribution/retail chain:

La marge avant
La marge arrière
Calcul de la rotation du stock
Le rendement du capital immobilisé

I have seen 'marge arrière' in the glossary here, but am not convinced the explanations suit my context.

agree nothing : It's when a big chain buys a product from a manufacturer, asking for a discount in the wholesale price. Thus the chain has a profit margin before the product is even put for sale
