the small bear

Non-PRO English to French Marketing
I am creating a line of fleece clothing for babies. My logo is a baby polar bear & I am looking for a trademark name.

Le petit ourson

It is my suggestion. However, I remember when I was toddler, I used to call that a "nounours". It is not really a word, but as a Trademark, I think it would be OK
Peer comment(s):

agree Poornima Iyengar : There is already a trademark called "nounours"!

agree Alexandra Hague : Isn't nounours more like teddy bear?

Ourson

A bear cub is called 'ourson'

The little bear can be translated as 'La Petite Ourse'

I recommend the second option!

You could go for either l’ourson câlin (the cuddly bear cub) or l’ourson blanc (the white bear cub).

No explanation required.

re: l’ourson câlin

Re my earlier suggestions, given that you want to attract customers to buy your fleecy clothes for babies, I personally think my first suggestion (i.e. as above) is preferable.
Peer comment(s):

agree Alexandra Hague : Nice

What about "Calinours"

Which is the contraction of "ours calin" (cuddy bear cub)

petit ours OR ours blanc

You have received some very good suggestions above, especially 'calinours' which is VERY cute, but I would say that unless you are targetting an entirely French-speaking clientele, you should go for something simple, which would be understandable and pronounceable for all your customers.

'Petit ours' is still cute and does conjur up a cute little bear, even to non native French speakers. 'Ours blanc' is another option, as this specifically refers to a polar bear...
Peer comment(s):

disagree Gayle Wallimann : Ours blanc is already in use, petit ours is confusing with reference to constellation again. This is difficult!

is one likely to confuse a brand of children's wear with a constellation...?
agree Alexandra Hague : "Petit Ours" (little bear) is the name of a series of childeren's books. Nice name for baby polar fleece though.

agree ildiHo : and petit ours is also a star sign... more ideas? :)

disagree Didier LONGUEVILLE : Too much too close to "petit ours brun" already registered

bébé ours

Everything is in there. Easy to pronounce (as easy as teddy bear, as far as I'm concerned), babies related name, small size clothes. Hope you like it, and good luck.
