Status Explanation: أحوال means status i will give you a full translation soon -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 mins (2014-03-22 08:42:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Interior Directorate General of Civil Status Civil Status Department: Al-Ahsa province Civil Status Office: Al-Ahsa Civil Status -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2014-03-22 16:05:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- You are most welcome any time -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day12 hrs (2014-03-23 20:54:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Dear Respected colleague as for the point raised by Mr. Ahmed, please find below my reply:- I have been to 3 GCC Countries during my career for a period of 10 years namely Oman, KSA & Qatar. These three countries use the word civil status as a translation for the term "الأحوال المدنية", In Oman where i lived for 7 years, this term is approved please find hereunder my proof: http://www.civilstatus.gov.om/english/ ----------------- In KSA where i lived for 2 years, the term is approved as per the following supporting links: http://business.highbeam.com/408947/article-1G1-262937515/ne... ------ http://business.highbeam.com/435881/article-1G1-258420143/pr... ------- http://www.saudilife.net/saudi-arabia/eastern-province/107-f... ------------------ http://www.proz.com/kudoz/arabic_to_english/law_general/3978... --------------- http://www.saudigazette.com.sa/index.cfm?method=home.PrintCo... ----------------- http://www.arabnews.com/node/386047 ------- This is for sure, My "respected" peers used the term civil affairs. This is also a short and incomplete answer there is a Ministry in the KSA that is called "the Ministry of Interior for Civil Status Affairs". Here also, Please note that the word affairs is preceded by Civil Status. Yet, the Directorate we are speaking about is widely known as the Directorate General of Civil Status. It is different from the Ministry my peer is referring to. ----- Hope that this is enough because i am not free to elaborate further. I do not want to waste my time with men arguing without bases. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 days7 hrs (2014-03-25 16:08:12 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Dear Colleague You are most Welcome |
