亲人生病需要照顾、亲人去世需要处理或个人特别情况不处理不行而请假，只是一般而言多是奔丧、回家照顾危急病人等，因为都是让人心急火燎的事，当然单位得有点“同情心”，所以才要“compassionate”。确实不易找到挺合适的三字对应词，或许可译为“应急假”或“亲情假”，前者是根据其完整内涵而对译；后者则既可强调单位有人情味，也可强调员工是为了家事而请假，只是感觉力度稍微差了点儿。

Dictionary definition for "compassionate leave" is "leave from work granted on the grounds of family illness or bereavement". Personally believe the translation is easier to understand, and self-explanatory.
