-Open a terminal window and type: [...]
"minicom WARNING: Configuration file not found, using defaults" will be shown.
-Press .
Press to exit the initial menu.
-Use the up and down arrows to select the “Serial Port Setup” option from the configuration menu.
Press .
-Press to change the serial device.
Change the serial device to /dev/ttyS5 and press .
-Press to change the baud rate.
Press again to select 9600 baud and press to return to the “Serial Port Setup” menu.
-Press to disable hardware flow control.
-Press twice to exit the “Serial Port Setup” menu and the top-level configuration menu.
The message Initializing modem will appear briefly. After this is done, the message buffer will appear.
-Type characters using the keyboard and verify that the correct characters show up in the minicom message buffer.
