English term

five-lap 80-yard race

He began by defending last year’s triumph in the traditional “Round Shmucktown” race, then triumphed in a **five-lap 80-yard race** in Chicago and finally outclassed his competition at the athletics meeting that took place alongside the nationwide convention for morbidly obese youth.

Vielen Dank für die Hilfe! :)

Peer comment(s):

B. 100 Meilen).

5 Runden zu 80 Yards

Surely it CANNOT be realistic to have an 80 yard race over FIVE laps - each lap a mere 16 yards??????????????? For Goodness' sake, Birgit, you just HAVE to check this with your customer; I cannot imagine it is anything other than a sloppy way of saying a "400 yard race over five - 80 yard laps". Can you? Seriously??

Dunnit show what garbage the computer programmers can come up with though? Hence GIGO, of course...
Note from asker:
Hi David. Thanks for your reply. The short length of the race is actually meant as a joke, it seems. HAHA. Very funny indeed.;)
