It is a code not a simple law, and maritime refers to shipping ,transportation by ships. Similar codes exist for all range of industries, like Codul Aerian,Codul Maritim--romanian equivalents for air and maritime transport transport, some 6O French Codes , Törvényköny akár a polgári vagy büntető amely egy iparágat szabályoz jelen esetben a tengeri hajózást

Nem vagyok jogász, de szerintem a code törvénykönyv vagy törvénygyűjtemény, és ez esetben a tengerészeti törvény elég átfogónak tűnik, maritime act-re egy helyen találtam a neten.
